Week 3

Week three was BUSY! I had a few events come across my feed so there are more opportunities to meet me and ask questions. On Thursday, I went to the High Desert Pride Center’s fundraiser for the intergenerational prom they are hosting. At this dinner, I was able to connect with other folks that hold office in our community as well as supporting a cause I believe in wholeheartedly. On Saturday, I started my day in Twentynine Palms connecting with community leaders and getting to know the other communities in district 23. After meeting with community leaders, I attended a rally for Chuckwalla National Monument in Palm Springs. I was not there to campaign, I was there as someone who cares deeply for our federal workers and our public lands. Towards the end of the rally, I was interviewed for NBC Palm Springs as well as the European Public Channel ARTE. On Sunday, my campaign manager and I met with my new Director of Fundraising to brainstorm ideas to bring in donations and to make sure we are coming across as a serious campaign running against someone who receives most of his donations from corporations and individuals with deep pockets. In order to take big money out of politics, we have to be in the community as much as possible so stay tuned for more events to come!
